I've been using Firefox 3 (Beta 5) for a couple of days now (thanks, to my hardy heron). I must say, however, that from a usability stand point, I'm less than impressed.

Part of this is due to the forced installation with Hardy, but part is due to it's incompatability with old extentions.
There are also fun issues with ExtJS (a JavaScript library which I use for work now). For some reason the new rendering engine for FF3 plays all kinds of havoc with things like date pickers and the such. the most annoying thing, however, was extensions.

They didn't work. Some of them did, but the majority didn't. And the ones that all stopped working were the ones that I use the most. Firebug, web developer toolbar, del.icio.us, evernote... all gone.

I tried to install FF2, which was only a marginal success. It installed fine, but I couldn't run both browsers side-by-side. So I decided to go for FF2, and to my shock, my horror, I noticed: none of my extensions were there any more.

i spent a while trying to figure it out, and eventually stumbled across this very helpful and informative article.

At the end he mentioned changing the FF3 icon. I found it more useful to remove the icon from the panel.

Anyway, it worked a treat, and I thank victorkane for his article.

Anyway, that's all for the moment. I may rant about it later.
